Job summary

The Red Hat Accounting team is looking for a Senior Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will manage the North America (NA) Revenue Accounting team consisting of revenue, project, and royalty accountants. You ll serve as the technical reference on revenue recognition matters on complex software solutions sales. You ll work closely with the NA sales force and business teams to structure transactions in accordance with the U. S. GAAP accounting guidance and ensure that revenue is recorded accurately in the accounting systems. Your success as a Senior Manager will be measured by the accuracy of the financial results and the development of scalable accounting processes to ensure a timely and accurate monthly revenue close.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Oversee the NA Revenue close process, including deferred revenue and unbilled accounts
  • Coach, develop, and supervise the work of NA Revenue, Project Accounting, and Royalty teams
  • Ensure the accuracy of the revenue subledger using RevStream
  • Maintain a two-day close schedule
  • Ensure that all reconciliations and other controls are performed and reviewed in a timely fashion
  • Provide monthly revenue-related balance sheet and profit and loss (P&L) fluctuation analysis to the accounting leadership team
  • Communicate impact of terms that are unusual or don t align with corporate objectives and offer business partners alternative structures
  • Partner with business to improve existing processes related to deal structuring and deal review
  • Collaborate with business controls and global process owners to identify opportunities to improve and streamline processes and further automate the revenue accounting subledger system

Required skills

  • Bachelor s degree in accounting or a related field
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years of management experience
  • Working knowledge of the U. S. GAAP Revenue Recognition Guidance, ASC 606
  • Solid financial reporting, analytical, and accounting skills
  • Advanced knowledge of major accounting software systems critical to the order-to-cash process, customer relationship management (CRM) using Salesforce. com (SFDC), enterprise resource planning (ERP) using Oracle, and revenue subledger using RevStream
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or public accounting experience are a plus
  • Experience with reporting tools like SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ) and Reports Wand or GL Wand is a plus

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
