Job summary
The Red Hat Sales Operations team is looking for a Senior Director for our North America (NA) Commercial group to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will report to the Senior Vice President of NA Commercial Sales, as well as to the Vice President of Global Sales Operations to ensure consistency with global strategic imperatives. You will guide the sales operations department with responsibility for managing the development of the NA Commercial Sales strategy, programs, projects, and initiatives together with the NA leadership team, monitoring the effectiveness of sales efforts and ensuring that they are aligned with the overall business objectives. You'll build the processes that enable visible and transparent management and that use the available tools or implement new ones that bring increased sales effectiveness. As a Senior Director of Operations Sales, you will also manage a team of deal and bid specialists who support the NA region in day-to-day activities around quotes and proposal creation.
Primary job responsibilities
Assist the Sales team with guiding growth strategies and ensuring that these strategies are adopted in all levels of the department
Deliver major cross-functional regional change initiatives focused on increasing sales productivity
Coordinate process improvements for competitive deal construction, complex deal support, and streamlined deal workflow with Global Deal Management teams, Finance, and Legal
Operate as a strategic adviser to sales leaders on strategic action plans, programs, and projects to improve operational efficiency, processes, systems, long-term planning, and team performance
Work closely with sales management to inspect sales process quality, identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement; assist with understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies and facilitate continuous process improvement
Monitor the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and other data
Implement enabling technologies, including CRM, to field sales teams; monitor the assigned sales organization's compliance with required standards for maintaining CRM data
Implement consumer segmentation, targeting, and positioning initiatives that assist senior sales management and executives in deciding resource allocation based on the internal requirements and the external market
Identify the goals, objectives, and scope of projects while working with relevant leaders and stakeholders; facilitate business requirements and specifications for all projects and programs and identify resource requirements, costs, and delivery schedule
Handle project management issues like project ownership and planning, project integration and adoption, reporting, and post mortem; help prioritize programs and projects
Provide effective and consistent communication between management, resources, and other business partners
Coordinate and own the organization's change management process
Required skills
Bachelor's degree in a technology or any analytical discipline; graduate degree in management is a plus

years in a leadership or management role leading high-performance, sales operations teams
Combined background of services and sales, or experience in sales
Demonstrated ability to manage a distributed, multi-cultural team
Solid process background and understanding
Thorough business process knowledge with the ability to engage leaders on business terms and deliver resolutions
Analytical and process-oriented mindset with the ability to guide revenue growth
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
Problem-solving skills with the ability to apply a quantitative approach to measuring customer experience, product usage, and customer satisfaction to guide improved performance
Deep financial and operational understanding of value drivers in recurring revenue business models
Excellent customer-facing skills, including the ability to deliver multiple priority projects with a focus on customer satisfaction in a rapidly changing environment
