(2048__20) I/t Engineer - Senior SQL Server Database Administrator
We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Server Database to be a member of our SQL Server team. You will work closely with the Wake County departments to implement and deploy creative solutions across a variety of applications.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Monitoring, maintaining, and tuning databases for maximum performance
Troubleshooting, monitoring, backup and recovery databases to ensure maximum availability
Extraction, conversion, migration and manipulation of application data to support applications
Design, build, upgrade, modify and support databases of critical enterprise applications.
Design database architecture deploying databases on using VMware
Design disk utilization backup strategies.
Design and create Schema objects
Evaluates database architectures and evaluate and implement new technology
Open service requests with vendor to resolve operational issue.
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and five years of
Experience installing and supporting MS SQL Server 2008 2014
Extensive experience using SQL Server Integration Services
Advanced SQL coding skills for both adhoc usage and creation of stored procedures and functions
Experience using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
MS PowerShell scripting experience
Experience in MS SQL Server administration.
Experience with MS SQL Server mirroring and Availability Groups
Experience writing programs and scripts using the C# or VB.Net programming language
Experience with Storage Array Network (SAN) technology
Experience with CommVault Simpana backup and recovery for
MS SQL Server helpful. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies Knowledge of the principles and practices of customer service to develop and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction with the services delivered by the department
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience installing and supporting MS SQL Server 2008 2014
Extensive experience using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Advanced SQL coding skills for both adhoc usage and creation of stored procedures and functions
Experience using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
MS PowerShell scripting experience
Experience supporting both hosted and on premise applications

Preferred Experience, Skills and Training (beyond the minimum requirements defined by the class) Four years experience working in/as Database Administration
Three plus years experience in Application design and development preferably with Information Technology projects including software development and implementation
Experience with MS SQL Server mirroring and Availability Groups
Experience writing programs and scripts using the C# programming language or VB.Net
Experience with CommVault Simpana backup and recovery for MS SQL Server
Experience with MS SharePoint
Experience with VMware configuration for MS SQL Server
