DTI is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Legal Investigative Analyst.
Job
Summary: DTI is seeking an experienced Legal Investigative Analysts to provide expert research in support of our law firm clients. The role involves use of online database and print resources to provide timely and cost-effective responses to our clients. This is contract to permanent full-time position and will be located in our Atlanta facility located at 2 Ravinia Drive. Candidates will be responsible for a wide range of duties related to legal and investigative research and mitigating exposure to risk and conflicts of interest.
Ideal applicants will have extensive experience in legal research, risk and fraud investigations, and / or identifying potential conflicts of interest issues. The position relies on excellent judgment to plan and accomplish goals and will work under very limited supervision of the Manager. Excellent individual problem-solving and analytical skills are used to skillfully determine relevancy.
Candidates must:
Be able to create, edit, proofread and finalize all written communications including e-mails, memos, reports, etc.
Be detail oriented and able to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under the required time constraints that may frequently require hours extending beyond the normal work schedule; requires a high level of mental effort and concentration due to volume and fast-paced environment.
Effectively prioritizes work time to ensure productivity and fulfills department standards for time spent
Ability to determine situational needs and provide appropriate solutions
Comfortable dealing with Ambiguity
Experience and proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Responsibilities and
Essential Functions:
Provides due diligence and conflicts research assistance to research and library staff across practice areas in a timely and effective manner using various resources.
Responds quickly and effectively to time sensitive requests
Communicate effectively with internal and external clients
Where applicable, provide in-depth analysis and summarization of results
Documents best practices and workflow - requiring strong writing skills
Utilizes administrative tools to manage workflow, package results and bills time to client/matters as appropriate
Maintains and expands working knowledge of online database resources, print resources and other legal and business research resources as appropriate
Required and Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required, Juris Doctorate degree is preferred
A minimum of two years' experience of legal research, conflicts, or background investigations
Experience in a large law firm or comparable corporate environment preferred
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to recognize ambiguous or inconspicuous patterns
Clear, crisp and proactive documentation of operational procedures required to tackle known risk related patterns
Prior knowledge of fraud and risk investigations
Advanced knowledge of legal and business electronic resources and databases, including Lexis Diligence, TLO, Hoovers, FINRA Broker Check etc. is preferred but not required
Advanced knowledge of research and retrieval strategies
Must be able to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
Ability to deal with stress associated with time-sensitive workload
Must adhere to all work policies, procedures, instructions and maintain strict confidentiality of all information while achieving a high quality work product
Willingness to work outside of the standard work day when urgent situations arise

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
