Director of Software Engineering
A brand name client in the Insurance industry are seeking a Director of Software Engineering to spearhead their new initiative of building an underwriting workbench using Unqork.

Due to the collaborative nature of the role, they are seeking candidates who can commit to being on-site twice a week at either their Raleigh, Jersey City or New York office.
ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership in aligning information systems development with business objectives for assigned business applications and/or technologies.
Instrumental in providing overall direction and guidance to engineering managers/leads, engineers/developers, and contract labor teams.
Drive software development across multiple teams and phases to ensure the execution of project work plans and determine department priorities, ensuring software development objectives are met.
The successful candidate for this role will not only provide significant hands-on design/coding contribution but also act as an Agile Program Manager (APM)Monitors all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle and Production Support service levels.
Prepares business cases, including financial analyses of potential new technologies/systems/applicationsEvaluates based on company strategic needs and resource availabilityOversees business analysis, development work and quality assurance of projects for assigned systems/technologies.
ExperienceBroad knowledge of software development techniques, processes, methods and best practices.
Proficiency with various programming languages used as well as low-code/no-code technologies, specifically Unqork, Federato, Outsystems, Appian, Mendix, or Salesforce Lightning Platform.
Strong understanding of Agile development methods and its application to company technology needs.
High level knowledge/expertise in Legacy and Java development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale business applications.
