Data Center I Technicians are considered entry level technicians. Candidates will work alongside IT support staff and Infrastructure SME sto support the install, troubleshooting, and maintenanceof equipment located in a Data Center or Lab environment.Data Center I Technicians may also be responsible for materials handling and Data Center access coordination.Experience working with personal computers, and familiarity with a laptop device is expected. You must be able to execute small projects independently/with minimal supervision and accomplish more complex project objectives as part of a larger team.Tasks / Responsibilities Installation, decommission, & maintenance of Data Center Network and Compute/Server equipment (ex. Storage, PDUs, SAN, and NAS). Execute installations in accordance with server elevation diagrams and patching matrices. Build and deploy Server cabinets per the client s standard. Troubleshooting of devices in the Data Center that require physical connectivity. Receives materials, and interfaces with cross functional teams to document, inventory, re-stock, and dispose of Data Center equipment/materials as necessary IT Asset Management, (ITAM)Capture device information such as asset tag, serial numbers, and MAC addresses. Performs periodic inventory assessments on material and equipment. Maintain proper cable management techniques, and power redundancy standards as required by the customer. Perform basic troubleshooting - such as power and link light verification. Stages project material for DC deployments as necessary. Supports the RFID installation, and AMS equipment data entry processes. Interface with customers, clients, and technical staff as required. Physically assist in moving and racking equipment as directed. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Materials Handling

Responsibilities:
Provide escorted access to equipment vendors into Data Centers. Responsible for making sure vendors following proper conduct within the Data Center. Perform scheduled Data Center walkthroughs to check for cleanliness & compliance issues. Qualifications / Skillset Can regularly lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, and the ability to use basic hand tools. Detail oriented and organized requires excellent documentation skills. Ability to perform the racking and patching of hardware and/or relocate existing devices to a new rack location. Familiarity with different types of cabling Coaxial, Ethernet, and Fiber, (ex.Single mode vs. Multi mode, CAT6 vs CAT6A). Familiarity with basic hardware componentry- Processors, Memory/RAM, Storage drives and Network cards. Basic understanding of air flow, heat management, and power redundancy. Performs on-call duties as necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required to Succeed:
Ensures that assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner with the assistance of a Lead/Supervisor if necessary. High level of written and oral fluency in English. Self-motivated, professional, and has attention to detail. Ability to multi-task. Ability to be on your feet for 8 hours a day. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
