The Public Health Educator is based in the Maternal and Child Health Section and provides educational services and programs to clients and the Wake County community at large in maternal health and childhood injury prevention/child passenger safety.
This position works collaboratively with two other Public Health Educators to teach childbirth education/parenting classes.
The Public Health Educator also functions as the Buckle Up Coordinator on a multidisciplinary team for the Child Passenger Safety Program, which offers support to other agencies that have Child Passenger Safety Programs and Permanent Checking Stations.
This position may serve as the Wake County Human Services representative on various local, state, and national child passenger safety committees.
The incumbent must be a Nationally Certified Childbirth Educator, and a Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician.
Essential Job Duties Educate clients and the community at large at car seat safety events Offer guidance and assistance to other staff pursuing National Child Passenger Safety Certifications Coordinate the internal permanent checking station/diversion program for the community Develop agency protocols for the Child Passenger Safety Program Maintain supplies and inventory for the Wake County Human Services Child Passenger Safety Program Field numerous calls from the community about child passenger safety Provide general consulting services to other programs and agencies about Child Passenger Safety Laws and Regulations Teach Childbirth/Parenting classes one evening per week as well as review Childbirth/Parenting curriculums and modules NOTE:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
