7K a year JDS Consulting is a Raleigh based engineering firm is seeking individuals to work in our Construction Field Inspection Department on local projects.
Our preferred candidates will have field engineering experience or construction management experience.
Job focus will be on structural inspections and reporting.
In this exciting role, you will be meeting with Contractors on job sites each day and working closely with Professional Engineers to provide engineered solutions for the Contractors to keep their projects moving forward.
This is a great entry level engineering position that allows young engineers to be involved in all aspects of construction from foundation work, to structural wood, steel, and concrete design, to forensic engineering on completed projects.
The variety of projects and experience will provide a good foundation for you to become a licensed Professional Engineer.
You will visit projects in the field and design solutions for those projects and present those solutions in an Engineering Report that is reviewed and sealed by a PE.
The ideal candidate will have good communication skills both written and oral and a Project Manager mentality to take ownership of their projects and complete them in a timely manner while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, solid math skills and reliability.
Provide detailed daily reports of observations.
Observe work and verify compliance with plans and specifications.
Interact and communicate effectively with client representative.
Must be authorized to work in the US.
Candidate(s) will be subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions, in addition to hazards at construction sites, including heights, heavy equipment and possible highway traffic.
Must be able to stand and walk on uneven surfaces.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
