1K a year Position Description This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for assigned courses and coordinating all instructional and academic activities within the Welding Program as the first-line manager assisting the Department Head and Division Dean.
Responsibilities and Duties ( Essential Functions) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily.

Manages program personnel, budget, supplies, equipment, and facilities of program Analyzes, evaluates, revises, and maintains an educational program consistent with current program technology and industry standards, safety practices, division procedures, and college policies Develops, maintains, and supervises long-range Institutional Effectiveness assessment plans that may include planning, developing, implementing, and reporting the program mission, goals, student learning outcomes and overall program outcomes Conveys verbal and written communications from the division management team to program personnel and keeps division management team informed of program operations Creates semester program schedules, assign courses for full-time and adjunct instructors Evaluate performance measures of program personnel Qualifies and evaluates faculty credentials Participates in the resolution of faculty and student issues Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment Grades and returns students work within two weeks of due date Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction Maintains regular office hours and advising hours Remains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching Serves on college or department committees as needed Makes and maintains contacts with other professionals in related fields at the secondary, university, and the two-year college level Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus Serves as academic advisor to BEST students Participates in graduation exercises Performs professional development as described per college policy Responsible for maintaining lab and classroom equipment and reporting concerns and issues to the division management teams Submits Eagle Assists where appropriate Responsible for maintaining suitable levels of instructional supplies and notifies division management team to order replenishment of supplies Maintains college policies and procedures Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning Be innovative, creative, motivated Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others Able to maintain records accurately and consistently meet deadlines Good organizational skills Knowledge of and familiar with technology and software including, computers and web-based resources such as Blackboard Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential Minimum Requirements:
Associate's degree in Applied Science degree in Welding Technology or closely related field Six years of experience in welding industry One year of leadership or instructional experience Preferences:
Current AWS D1.
1 or ASME Section IX endorsements Current AWS CWI (Certified Welding Instructor) or CWE (Certified Welder Educator) Seven years of experience in welding industry Three years of leadership or two years of teaching experience Essential Personnel:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
