Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of HR Support, the Human Resources Representative's main responsibility is to support YMCA branch leadership at our Durham YMCAS with the administrative functions of the hiring and onboarding processes of part time staff.
They are responsible for working closely with the Human Resources team to provide leadership support in key human resource processes to include hiring and onboarding.
They are responsible for managing these functions in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees, and Board of Directors of the YMCA.
This position is an on-site role located primarily at the Poole Family YMCA (Garner, NC) in addition to supporting the East Triangle YMCA (Clayton, NC) working up to 25 hours per week.
During peak hiring summer months this position will also flex up to help support the Southeast Raleigh YMCA with hiring and onboarding needs.
The Human Resources Representative must have a flexible schedule with availability that is able to fluctuate during business hours, with key hours of availability needed between 8am-12pm and 2pm-6pm on a rotating basis.
Some weekends may be required, as well as the opportunity to flex scheduled hours up to 35 hours/week as needed during peak season hiring.
Essential Functions:
In cooperation with branch leadership and ARC Human Resources team, works to understand needed position postings, timeframes, number of applicants and hiring team.
Provides support throughout the recruitment process as directed by the Director of HR Support and to ensure efficient hiring practices are adhered to within a specific time frame.
In conjunction with Association HR staff, responsible for ensuring compliance and efficiency in the hiring process and onboarding of new employees, to include sending official offer letters, ordering background checks and processing of I-9 Forms in accordance with YMCA of the Triangle and Federal guidelines.
Provides guidance and training to branch leadership through hiring process in UKG HRIS system.
Assists to ensure hiring managers provide all interview notes and reference check responses and upload to employee's file.
Assists to monitor completion of New Hire Checklists in HRIS and completion of required new hire/re hire trainings.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending ARC HR training sessions and/or meetings and establishing network with other Branch/ARC HR Staff.
Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required and 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources or general office procedures desired.
Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel and HRIS systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Ability to communicate procedures in a positive and professional manner to individuals and/or large groups across all levels of employees.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, and the initiative to be a self-starter with minimal direction and supervision.
Must be dependable, efficient and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Multi-lingual desired but not required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
