00Job Description The City of Raleigh is seeking to hire a paraprofessional and professional to manage of City-owned real property, facilities and rights-of-way including acquisition, disposition and property management.
Incumbents provide property purchase, sale and leasing services to City departments.
Work may include meeting with property owners; attending preliminary planning and design meetings to provide acquisition feedback, including pricing; arranging for appraisals and cost estimates; conducting negotiations and closing sales; searching records for property information; securing signatures on transaction documents; coordinating right-of-way acquisition with other departments; and preparing and gathering property documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities Provide professional support to City departments in the acquisition of real property for rights-of-way, public utilities, public facilities, greenway, parks and community; assist in determining property valuation; provide support and coordination for negotiations, acquisition and payment process.
Assist City departments with real property disposition; coordinate appraisals and cost estimating; coordinate document review and processing related to disposition, leases and/or acquisitions.
Perform research and gathers property information in preparation for meeting presentations; prepare Council and Committee meeting agenda items including condemnation authorization, acquisitions, and approval of dispositions and/or leases.
Attend public meetings for City infrastructure projects; present the real estate acquisition process to property owners; respond to questions and provides general information related to property acquisition, disposition and leases.
Prepare status reports, correspondence and presentation materials; update and maintain documentation and records.
Typical Qualifications Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in real estate and one year of real estate experience.
ORAn equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Licensing/Certifications Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
North Carolina Real Estate or Broker's License (preferred) Additional Information Knowledge of:
