We are looking for special event support staff to assist with a variety of tasks at special events such as weddings, parties, receptions, and festivals.
Tasks include setting up and taking down tables and chairs, moving furniture to/from on-site storage closets, installing and removing pedestrian stanchions and/or fencing, serving as venue hosts, parking lot attendants, and assistance during events such as assisting other vendors with load in/load outs, buffet management, serving, table bussing, directing guests, and other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate for this position will live within 15-20 minutes of Downtown Raleigh.
Compensation includes salary, holiday weekend shift premiums, travel pay, and bonus opportunities.
Responsibilities The successful person in this position will be able to understand and execute directions to flip a venue to a new floor plan by removing, relocating, and/or replacing furniture and fixtures as outlined on a floorplan.
Other duties include directing guests to check-in tables, restrooms, and other locations within the venue specific to that event.
Prepares room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
Assists event guests find available parking locations, and directs guests to the appropriate venue entrance Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
Helps patrons select food and beverages by suggesting courses, explaining the chef's specialties, identifying appropriate beverage pairings, and answering food preparation questions.
Skills Ability to consistently lift and move up to 35 lbs.
Ability to push carts containing tables and chairs on flat, level floors.
Ability to carry tables and chairs on flat over unpaved surfaces.
Ability to read an event floor plan.
Ability to stand and walk for up to 6 hours Positive attitude and excellent communication skills Knowledge of food safety standards Crowd Manager certification from NC Dept.
of Insurance a plus, but not required pre-employment.
ServSafe food handler certification a plus, but not required pre-employment.
Work Schedule & Benefits Most shifts are afternoons and evenings of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Occasional Sunday morning or weekday shifts may be scheduled.
Travel more than 15 miles from your home is reimbursable at 40 cents/mile All employees are eligible for bonus payouts two times per year if attendance and shift requirements are met.
