The Role and the Company The HR Generalist role is based in Raleigh, NC and reports directly to the Southeast Region HR Director.

Heres what youll get to do:
HR program administration and management Manage regional HR Projects Provide guidance to all levels of management on policies including interpretation and progressive discipline Support region HR Managers with Employee Relations issues and investigations Assist with annual benefits enrollment, salary increases, and other personnel change transactions Participate in the hiring process for both salaried and hourly positions Assist management in the development of potential succession candidates for key roles Support regional administrators on HR policies and processes Assist with regional training program management Ensure company and leader compliance with federal and state employment law, as well as Company policies and standard operating procedures Coach and counsel both salaried and hourly employees to enhance engagement, retention, and productivity, and mitigate financial and operational risk Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Company guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance etc.
Essential Experience and Skills At least 5 years of HR experience Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or associate degree plus 8 or more years of HR experience Prior experience in a manufacturing setting Strong knowledge of employment law and?recruiting/staffing Knowledge of Labor Relations/Collective bargaining/Union Avoidance Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Office and systems Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively Willingness to travel Preferred Experience and Skills MSHA knowledge and experience HR professional certification Workday or similar HRIS systems Kronos Work Environment Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels What we have to offer Competitive base salary and participation in our annual incentive plan Highly competitive benefits programs 401k retirement savings plan with an automatic company contribution as well as matching contributions Heidelberg Materials is a drug-free work environment.
