Each office has a landscape construction and maintenance division and provides turnkey landscaping services from project groundbreaking through ongoing maintenance.
We have a responsibly aggressive growth strategy and plan to open multiple additional offices throughout the Southeast in the next couple of years.
As such, we are seeking a Commercial Landscape Estimator with a strong background in commercial landscaping to help us achieve our growth strategy.
The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset to perform landscape construction takeoffs and build accurate, professional estimates.
The estimator must be a flexible and adaptable team player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.
Major Duties &
Responsibilities:
oManage estimating workflow and pipeline to provide complete proposals before bid deadlinesoReview RFP's, plans, addendums, and specs to determine the scope of work and the most effective production methodsoAssist customers with technical information and pricing before and during constructionoProspect and develop relationships with key GC and developer decision-makers within the Company's region.
oObtain qualified subcontractor quotes for each scope of work and review scope and final bids with each suboSolicit written quotes for hard materials, plant materials, and any other items needed to complete the total direct cost estimate for the joboTravel to jobsites to observe current conditions, job progress and attend required meetings.
oComplete plan take-off and enter the bid and estimate data in AspireoAssign, recommend, and/or propose gross profit margins based on current pricing guidelinesoPrepare bid summaries for each estimate and review them with division management and senior leadership as part of the job handoff process.
oParticipate in pre-job and post-job meetingsQualifications and Requirements:
oExtensive understanding of landscape installation and construction methodsoBasic knowledge of plant material and best horticultural practicesoAbility to read and understand plans and specificationsoAbility to build strong relationships with prospects, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and team membersoAbility to project a professional image and a positive attitude in all situationsoGood written and verbal communication skillsoStrong organizational and time management skillsoProficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and AspireoBasic understanding of business math, accounting, and financial reportingoBachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, Horticulture, Business, or any other applicable major not required but strongly desired.
