Reliable and safety-minded individuals who qualify and are able to obtain the NC Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and P&S Endorsement (Passengers and School Bus) are encouraged to apply by submitting an application.n POSITION PURPOSE: n Under general supervision, operates a school bus on assigned route(s) and schedule to provide safe and efficient transportation for students. Performs pre-and post-trip inspections of the bus; operates a bus; obeys all traffic laws and school bus regulations while operating the bus; abides by all safety regulations and standards for school buses; and maintains discipline of students assigned to ride the bus. Completes and submits all required reports and secures the assigned bus before leaving the vehicle at the end of a run or routen If you are hired, expect:nna competitive wage packagenschedule optionsntrainingnvacation time, holiday pay, health insurance, NC Retirement for full-time (30 hours and up) driversndaily guarantee on payna great working environment!nn WCPSS school bus driver qualificationsnnMust be 18 years old.nMust possess a valid NC driver's license.nMust have had a valid driver's license for a minimum of two years.nn Within past 12 monthsnnNo conviction of any moving violationnNo pending charge of any moving violationnNo more than one charge of any moving violation, regardless of dispositionnn Within past 60 monthsnnNo more than three charges of moving violations of any kindnNo conviction of a moving violation combined with any other charge of a moving violationnNo charge of DWI or DUInNo charge for reckless drivingnNo charge for passing a stopped school busnn Within past 10 yearsnnNo suspension or revocation of the driving privilege, other than for such status offenses as lapsed insurance, failure to appear in court, and failure to comply with out-of-state citation; provided that there be no more than one suspension or revocation for such status offenses within the past 10-years.nn IndefinitennNo more than one charge of DWI or DUInn CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS nnMust have a valid North Carolina driver s license and has held a driver s license for a minimum of 2 years;nHold and maintain a NC Commercial Driver s License (CDL) and P&S Endorsement (Passengers and School Bus). CDL training will be provided through WCPSS, if needed;nCommercial driver license (CDL) holders must meet the medical qualifications set by the NC General Statute Medical Qualifications Standards Applicable to Commercial Drivers.nn PREFERRED
Qualifications: nnFirst Aid and CPR certification;nBlood borne pathogens certification;nExperience driving a commercial vehicle;nExperience using computers and other office equipmentnn ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities: nnEnsures safety and care of students that are boarding, riding, and departing the school bus; operates wheelchair lifts as needed.nComplies with Transportation Department Bus Driver s Agreement standards; upholds a high standard of bus conduct at all times; attends bus safety meetings.nChecks the school bus thoroughly to ensure that no students are left on the school bus at each school in the morning and after the last drop of each route segment in the afternoon; secures the school bus before leaving the vehicle at the end of a run or route.nTransports only authorized students; discharges students only at the authorized school or bus stop locations.nReports infractions of school bus safety rules to the principal or designee.nObeys all traffic laws and school bus regulations while operating the school bus.nPerforms daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and completes checklist; complies with standards of bus cleanliness.nOperates the assigned vehicle on the assigned route(s) and schedule as provided by the Transportation Office.nCompletes and submits all reports relating to transportation.nInforms appropriate staff of any students added or deleted from route which may necessitate a change in route or bus stop.nReports observable mechanical defects or failures on the school bus by completing and submitting observations on the mechanical complaint form.nMaintains professional relationships with students, the parents/guardians of the students transported, and with school system staff.nConducts emergency evacuation drills to ensure efficiency of procedures and WCPSS compliance according to mandated requirements.nPerforms other related duties as assigned.nn WORKING CONDITIONS: n PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT n Must be able to use a variety of office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. Must be able to communicate effectively. At times requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical requirements are consistent with those for medium work. Transportation department can contact the school s Physical Therapist for assistance, if needed, with proper lifting techniques.n WORK ENVIRONMENT n Must be able to work in a school bus or school transportation vehicle and come into direct contact with school system staff, students, and parents. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to loud noise levels; fumes or airborne particles; vibrations from driving a bus; and various road and traffic conditions. The temperature on the bus could be cold or hot, depending on the weather. n

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
