Summary:
The Director of the Office of Quality and Patient Safety leads a team of certified patient safety specialists who evaluate and respond to patient safety concerns brought to the attention of The Joint Commission. The Director must be a leader in patient safety and process improvement capable of implementing activities designed to achieve goals which are developed collaboratively with the Medical Director/Patient Safety Officer. The Director establishes processes designed to improve patient safety while complying with CMS guidelines. Critical thinking, broad clinical knowledge, and superior communication skills are required to effectively lead both internally and externally. A strong desire to learn and collaborate with healthcare organizations and other key stakeholders is essential. Comfort interfacing with healthcare organization leadership such as the CEO, CNO, CMO is required. Responsibilities PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Functions as a leader in patient safety and a role model for the development and implementation of initiatives utilizing performance improvement tools and strategies to accomplish goals. Provides oversight, leadership, and quality control for all patient safety work. Takes a leadership role in providing education within Joint Commission and to healthcare organizations related to patient safety. Develops, leads, and participates in work groups to identify and implement improvements to internal processes and patient safety goals. Serves as an expert resource in patient safety and process improvement to other division experts as needed. Effectively communicates with internal and external customers in a respectful, constructive and collegial style consistently providing excellent customer service. Assimilates all known information about healthcare organization for issues of the greatest urgency and makes thoughtful recommendations to senior leadership regarding the need for on-site survey activity. Collaborates with Accreditation Operations (ACO) to facilitate for-cause survey activity as needed. Ensures that resulting on-site survey occurs within the required timeframe; collaborates with field directors as necessary to identify the appropriate survey activity and complement to conduct the survey. Initiates and leads pre-survey and mid-survey calls as appropriate during for-cause survey activity. Works with patient safety team to ensure that a thorough and credible Root Cause Analysis is completed when a Sentinel Event is reported. Leads patient safety team to improve reliability and validity of processes for accepting organizational response to allegations of patient safety events. Coordinates response and communicates with customers, stakeholders, and media as appropriate. Responds to data requests related to patient safety allegations and sentinel events. Identifies patterns and trends noted in aggregated OQPS data to drive improvement activity. Collaborates with Legal Affairs and Compliance on issues related to confidentiality, retaliation concerns and other legal issues in the clinical setting. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Healthcare clinician and/or recognized safety expert with a master's degree or equivalent. A minimum of 10 years of experience in safety, quality and/or leadership. Proven track record in quality improvement or patient safety. Exceptional ability in leading and motivating team members, by fostering an environment of shared goals and priorities. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Experience in data management, statistics, or LEAN/Six Sigma. Demonstrated ability to interact with the executive leadership of an accredited organization about serious patient safety risks. Demonstrated ability to empathize with patients and families. Demonstrated excellent customer relationship management skills. Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals at various levels inside and outside of the organization, often in sensitive situations. Demonstrated skills in managing people in a dynamic environment. Excellent presentation and public speaking skills. Demonstrated ability to function well in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Strong computer skills preferred including excel. Note:

Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K
Minimum Qualification
Healthcare ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
