IT SPECIALIST (DATAMGT) (Title 32)

As a IT SPECIALIST (DATAMGT), GS-2210-11, You will provide assistance, advice and guidance to organizational users, both in the administrative and technical areas, concerning the use of the multiple database management systems available for use; using software-engineering techniques, designs new applications that enhance existing systems; responsible for the management of quality assurance and system efficiency functions of assigned RDBMS systems by enforcing the prescribed RDBMS; review and implements security provisions to ensure authorized access and integrity of the RDBMS; provide technical advice and coordinate the monitoring and tuning requirements for RDBMS optimization of performance; review system documentation, user's manual and training guides; troubleshoot problems involved in the input, retrieval or modification of database information and the general operation and maintenance pertinent to any of the organizations data system elements or sub-elements; test new DBMS software and implement updates and changes; ensure resolution of DBMS inconsistencies across the installation in coordination with other information technology specialists and systems administers; develop system backup and recovery plans assigned RDBMS applications; make recommendations on alternatives involving major projects; analyze DBMS inconsistencies with other system administrators and devises recovery plans for failure resolution; provide technical assistance to personnel involved in developing system design, programming, specifications and adapting commercially available software; Participates in the analysis of requests for new and modified applications; provide DBMS maintenance of a data dictionary, listing the kinds of data in databases and how to access them; coordinate and integrates data elements for a variety of projects in a number of dissimilar areas. Experience:
Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. Experience:
Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience - For the GS-5 level, a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the experience requirements.At the GS-7 level, one full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement. At the GS-9 level, a masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree may be substituted. At the GS-11 level, a Ph.D. or equivalent, or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Undergraduate or Graduate Education:
Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
