Information Technology Specialist (Systems Manager)

If selected you will serve as the Information Technology Specialist (Systems Manager) for the United States Attorney's Office, Eastern District of North Carolina. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Maintains district-wide responsibility for testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, maintenance and management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in data, voice and/or video format. Ensures systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency. Maintains network architecture and infrastructure. Configures and maintains servers, hubs, routers and switches. Monitors network capacity and performance and resolves network problems. Analyzes network traffic patterns and installs network software fixes, upgrades, and enhancements. Resolves hardware/software interface and interoperability problems. Optimizes systems performance and identifies components to improve overall systems performance. Manages accounts, network rights and access to systems and equipment. Plans and schedules the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems and applications software, working closely with customers to insure seamless installation. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. GS-12:
To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal service. Qualifying experience demonstrates possession of each of the following competencies:
Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. Specialized experience is defined as serving an Information Technology Specialist responsible for the configuration, installation, or management of network systems; installing Windows based servers and maintaining existing servers; assessing IT policy needs; establishing metrics to measure and evaluate systems performance; performing network diagnostics and resolving network problems; maintaining network architecture and infrastructure; installing and maintaining compatible database systems; and develops training to meet customer needs. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
